How AI agents have changed my thinking as a developer.
This week, while working on one of my projects, I realized just how fast I was able to create a page, design a layout, and generate assets for my project. A few years ago, this would have taken me 10 times longer—both to write the code and to understand it. Fixing and diagnosing issues has never been easier, thanks to AI agents.
I still remember how, just a few years back, it would take me ages to even understand what an error meant or where it was coming from. Now, debugging and writing code have become significantly more intuitive and efficient with AI tools at my side.
Of course, there’s an ongoing argument that, as a programmer, you still need to be skilled enough to ask the right questions. The AI you use can only help you as much as it understands your thought process. I find it much easier when the agents can grasp how I approach solving a problem. Most of my conversations with AI are about understanding whether my methodology will scale or work well for the problem I’m tackling.
Over the past few years of coding, I've come to realize how quickly the world is changing. The time it took us to go from box phones to AI feels incredibly short. I don't think we fully appreciate how fast this revolution is happening—it truly feels like we're living through one of the most rapid periods of change in human history. Everything is shifting, moving, evolving at such a pace that it’s hard to keep up. Yet, we must take a moment to appreciate the era we're living in.
That said, this revolution does come with its downsides. As a young person living in this age, I feel that we are among those most affected by these changes. But just like humans have always done, the only way forward is to adapt.
Hope this was a good read!
